Perfection is an unattainable goal, but, goddamn, this comes close.

Just about every moment of the record is filled with something fun. It’s quite an amazing achievement — somehow managing to synthesize the best bits from throughout their entire career into something that becomes far more than merely the sum of its parts.

Playing like a flawlessly sequenced and paced greatest hits album, this live set finds Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo connecting the booms among their three albums while officially cementing one of the year's most rewarding and welcomed comebacks.

Regenerating and destroying pop: That’s Daft Punk.

It may not be better or stronger than the original Alive 1997, but it's definitely harder and faster.

Slant Magazine

While occasionally the duo seems to fall back on cranking up the merciless 4/4 kick until their audience begs for mercy, Alive 2007 actually does more to reveal their musicianship than almost any other Daft Punk release to date.

This is the first-rate live album that Electric Light Orchestra should have made but never did.

One more time, we’re gonna celebrate. You’ll have to imagine the giant neon pyramid, though.

XLR8R
As a live electronic album, this is a huge success; as a historical document, stick to the Coachella YouTube videos.

There is something awe-inspiring about the power and momentum of these cyborg composites but, particularly if you listen while perusing the booklet's images of Parisians having unimaginable amounts of fun, it ultimately feels more like the document of a fantastic experience than a fantastic experience in its own right.

Whilst I don’t doubt how great it must have been in person — I’ve heard about it too often — as a listening experience it’s rubbish.

every once in a while i listen to a record, and it reminds me why music is so important to me. ive always been able to express myself, and understand how i feel through music. it gives an incredibly strong sense of euphoria that some would kill to feel, and that feeling keeps me going alot of days. alive 2007 is one of the strongest examples of that i can give. daft punks legacy can not overstated. they have released hit after hit, they revolutionised the house scene, and they raised the bar of ... read more

ANOTHER TEN FROM MOTHERFUCKING DAFT PUNK.
So... I haven't really listened to live stuff that much. This and their first "Alive" project in 1997. The first "Alive" wasn't really amazing or interesting, i mean they only just released "Homework" so what can they really do.

With "Alive 2007", now they can mix songs from "Homework", "Discovery" and "Human After All'. Some of these mashups are pure fucking genius. I never thought ... read more
