Blue in the Dark was smaller in scope, but its successes came from being musically sure-footed and lyrically purposeful. Hello, It's You goes for something newer and bigger, yet it falls into familiar traps.

Bearings is one of my favorite recent pop punk bands. Their debut album, Blue in the Dark, was one of my favorite albums of the 2010s, so my anticipation was high for their sophomore album. I'm not a big fan of the vocals on this one. Everything else is fine, but vocals dropped my rating down by a lot.
New and intuitive. The sound is something you feel like you've heard before, but get you thinking. Brings emotions to the surface.
