I AM THE GOD OF HELLFIRE AND I BRING YOU fire. Uh... yeah... That song has been stuck in my head all day so I thought it was finally time to check out the full album.

Well, it certainly lives up to the name. It's definitely a crazy record. Honestly, this may be one of the most underrated albums of the 1960s. Now this...THIS is what I love in a classic psychedelic rock album. It's not generic psych-rock you might expect from a band of this era. It's unchained, super experimental, and surprisingly cinematic. Just from the opening track, it felt like a Broadway play's interpretation of 60's rock. Speaking of which, this was super heavy for the 60's; once again, just listen to the opening track. The vocals are wild and the tempo is super fast. Whenever I hear Fire I do that little salute Timothy Dalton does in Hot Fuzz and it makes me feel 10x cooler.

Arthur Brown's Music sounds like if King Crimson got really into theatre when making Crimson King. Arthur belts out with so much emotion that it makes him sound like an old tormented god rising from his slumber, to cast the world in hell fire and moan into the night. Very surreal even in comparison with it's psychedelic contemporaries. Fire isn't the only highlight here, either. The opening two tracks and the second side offer a lot to connect with.
