The Needle Drop

There is undeniably a lot of talent between the members of Spillage Village, but it often doesn't manifest as memorable songwriting or topical focus on Spilligion.

A dreamville album without J Cole is always going to be great
Damn, I don't even know where to start...
I mean, I expected it to be good and I had high hopes but I'm not sure I expected it to be this much fun. I haven't been this entertained by a new music release in a long time.

Sep 25th Album Marathon #2: Spillgion - Spillage Village

Man, I really, really wanted to like this album a lot more.

I'm just confused. I didn't expect the album to sound like this, like, at all. I thought with JID and Earthgang, they were going to absolutely murder beats and deliver amazing verses. I was very suprised by the overall style of this record because the singles were so different to how the rest of the album sounds. They opted for more of a gospel/ RnB hip hop record. Despite the surprise style, this album is great.

The vocals on all of the tracks are heavenly, vocals like these aren't just great on the ears but the soul. When matched with the production on this album, the vocals are so uplifting. The entire group comes together perfectly to make such cohesive tracks.
