The Needle Drop

There is undeniably a lot of talent between the members of Spillage Village, but it often doesn't manifest as memorable songwriting or topical focus on Spilligion.

Man, I really, really wanted to like this album a lot more.

I'm just confused. I didn't expect the album to sound like this, like, at all. I thought with JID and Earthgang, they were going to absolutely murder beats and deliver amazing verses. I was very suprised by the overall style of this record because the singles were so different to how the rest of the album sounds. They opted for more of a gospel/ RnB hip hop record. Despite the surprise style, this album is great.

The vocals on all of the tracks are heavenly, vocals like these aren't just great on the ears but the soul. When matched with the production on this album, the vocals are so uplifting. The entire group comes together perfectly to make such cohesive tracks.

This album is the equivalent of Lucky Charms, with Baptize and End Of Days being tasty marshmallows, and everything else being sort of a bland, grainy, mess.

I’m pretty disappointed with this new Spillage Village album to be honest. The singles End Of Daze and Baptize are absolutely phenomenal, and they easily outshine everything on here.
