Now how the hell was I supposed to anticipate that such an exciting and unique sounding album could come out of an album title like; "Lumpy Gravy"?
If there was one word to describe Lumpy Gravy, it would be "weird". A second word would be "experimental". Seriously, if you thought that anything Zappa had done with The Mothers was either of those things, then nothing would prepare you for this avant-garde beyond belief sound collage.

An absolute joy and fun time of a sound collage. Something that you can always come back to and be thoroughly entertained by. An earlier example of the incorporation of musique concréte with pop and rock music. A work of genius just like just about anything Zappa touches.
Fantastic orchestration mixed with insanely difficult to reproduce musique concrete noises. My least favourite parts are the long spoken word parts although they are quite surreal.
