This really fails to evoke any feeling from me. Instrumental is fairly rudimentary, Busta Rhymes' verse was just okay and I really didn't like Trippie Redd's delivery on the chorus. But overall, combining Trippie Redd and Busta Rhymes on the same song just had a neutral effect on me.

I really liked this single surprisingly, after strongly disliking his past two singles, Excitement and Dreamer. Trippie was spectacular on the track with amazing vocals and decent lyrics, creating an atmosphere similar to the single's art. Busta Rhymes on the other hand was horrible and didn't fit the track, with his off-beat vocals and below average lyrics. Overall, a great song with Busta Rhymes dragging down a track in which Trippie Redd was shining bright on an outstanding Wheezy beat.

Trippie's hook is really good. But why the Busta Rhymes feature? He's so out of place here

And considering Trippie Redd is 1000x the singer Busta ever was, it should be, but it’s often hard to recapture classic lyrics. The warm strings, watery synths and understated high hats also give ‘I Got You’ a carefree, lovestuck feel that it’s inspiration never had. And although ... read more
