I chose to listen to '7VEN' because it was Tokyo's Revenge's debut EP and his previous singles have been doing really well so I wanted to see if he lives up to all the hype. After listening to the project, I feel like Tokyo's Revenge definitely lived up to all the hype and may be the most likely aggressive rapper to go mainstream after 6ix9ine, except without the need to troll and just with the music.

The vocals on the project are unbelievably good and I never would've imagined an aggressive ... read more

Nothing really interesting going on with Tokyo's Revenge's new EP "7VEN". It's pretty much just run-of-the-mill, uncreative underground screamo Trap Metal without much of the "Metal" part, since these beats are nearly indistinguishable, mixed with some pop and rock oriented tracks fused into the tracklisting.
Production on the more soft songs ("SINNER PT.3"; "HELL BENT" ; "we made an anime opening") is actually pretty decent but production on ... read more

TOKYO’S REVENGE comes through with a tape I’m a bit conflicted on. On one hand, it’s aggression and rapping in the first 5 tracks (minus SINNER PT.3) remind me of exactly what I loved about the 2016/2017 Soundcloud rap movement. However with a lot of these bangers he’s wearing his ... read more

When I first heard Tokyo's Revenge, I had a lot of hope that he could become a great new artist with a lot of new, creative ideas to offer. While I'm not giving up on him, it worries me that he struggled a bit to distinguish himself on this project. None of the songs really stuck with me after the first listen. Yelling over a shitty distorted trap beat isn't enough to impress people anymore. He needs to find a lane he is comfortable in and can thrive in. I think he can do better than this. ... read more

Tokyo is really killing it this year. I feel like i should be expecting him on XXL next year. This is some great agressive shit, much better then his other EP. He improved really fast and really nailed all these different in a single EP. It's like Lil Nas X's "7" ,but it actually worked. He's gonna drop a stellar debut album when he gets to do so. That's something i'm really looking forward to. Also, the art style of his lyric videos is great and DEADMANSWONDERLAND is fantastic. Get ... read more
