This is starting become bloated territory for the band. Chris Martin's vocals are also a lot more exposed on this album, and his weaknesses are much more apparent. Outside of a few listenable tracks, this album is quite the mess.

I may not be a fan of Thisbe album, but the little piano solo at the end of “Charlie Brown” is probably the most precious thing I’ve ever heard.

God bless you Chris Martin.

☆☆ ~ Regular album with an uninteresting, weak composition. I wasn't feel fully connected listening to it.

unpopular opinion but this album carries too much sentimental value to rate it any lower that 70.
and also the hurts like heaven music video is great.
ive genuinely liked all of coldplay's work from start to wherever they're up to now (except for that collab with chainsmokers. no) but mylo xyloto is so magical in a sense. truly an album from my childhood that i don't think has ever grown off me

fav. songs: hurts like heaven, princess of china, charlie brown
least fav. songs: a hopeful ... read more

Mylo Xyloto is an album which had a lot of potential. Coldplay is a bit of guilty pleasure of mine, whilst they have never been the deepest, innovative or technically astounding band out there, I still find a lot of their tunes to be fairly decent pop rock fluff. Mylo Xyloto is the group taking on this very pop-centric record which is bright and colorful with very synthy instrumentation. It's a real feel good album and some of these tracks are nice to just relax and listen to and this idea and ... read more

A paradox: it is still the same old coldplay we all already know but somehow different. The band still sings about the same topics but now the production sounds more creative and far from the romantic indie rock cliché that made Coldplay worlwide famous.

Listenable but not sound brilliant as we can see in the cover.

(Subject to change due to relistens and opinions.)

I grew up listening to this album and listening to it again, I realized how inconsistent and poorly produced this album is.

Mylo Xyloto is the album where Coldplay broke apart their sound and reformed it to fit this album. If you don't really know what's beneath this album, this is a story about two people who can use light and energy to create color stuff and that this big bad government official man thing wants to go after them. However, ... read more

I really like this album, it's colorful and poppy, but nothing here is generic or boring like their next albuns after that.

A few tracks on this album are amazing. But other than that, there's way too much pointless filler. Very disappointing.

Best Tracks: Paradise, Charlie Brown, Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall, Princess of China,

Worst Tracks: Major Minus, UFO
NR
Interesting production and somewhat interesting sound, quite simple and unbelievably boring songs. Only stand-outs: Princess of China and Charlie Brown. Paradise, possibly their most commercially successful song, is also one of their most boring ones.

Stand-out Tracks:
- Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

Coldplay are now a pop band with this offering, some good songs but mostly banal and uninspiring, a band that have sold out
