It's only been a month since their album 'Protean Threat', but apparently 2020 is becoming a trilogy of albums for them. 'Metamorphosed', in the first couples, is again aggressive and formidable. However, with time and the arrival of the middle to the end, everything goes into a quieter position, and only once there are cases of slippage of some kind of severity.
Seeing how amazingly prolific Osees are, it is no surprise that Metamorphosed is their second of three albums set to drop this year alone. The first in the trilogy, Protean Threat put Osees back onto a more focused path, and since this album only has a total of five tracks, it should have been even more focused. Just one month after their last album, and Osees have released yet another scuzzy garage and kraut rock project. While still definitely impaired by the same issues that made Protean Threat so insufferable, by comparison Metamorphosed is a much more digestible helping. The last two of the five tracks (The Virologist and I Got a Lot) being 14 and 23 minutes long respectively make the album feel much more like an improvised jam session than something as focused as a studio album, and surprisingly, ... read more
