5/10
I wish I would like this. Josh seems to be such a humble and down-to-earth guy and I'm a huge fan of his work with Frusciante, Dot Hacker and Bob Forrest but for some reason I can't get into his Pluralone stuff.
Fav track: The Night Won't Scare Me
Josh Klinghoffer is awesome. His work in rhcp is really good and his work outside of the band weather it be his album with Frusciante or his other projects are amazing. He never disappoints me with his music. Some of his best songs hes been on, on this album.
Best tracks: Red Don’t Feel, The Night Won’t Scare Me, The Report, I Hear You
Worst track: N/a

red dont feel, night wont scare me, mother nature
Music is absolutely great but the vocals don't really do it for me. The vocals sound too much like mainstream music vocals, which doesn't feel like it would work with this album, the part where he goes "Gotta make-" at 2:59 of Track 8 - 'Plank', is a great example of this.
Except when he goes Falsetto which is absolutely beautiful.
With vocals more to my taste, this would be absolutely great, probably an 83 or 84. But for now, a 78 feels fair. But man does the music hit absolutely ... read more
Josh Klinghoffer's work outside of RHCP has somehow turned out to be much more artistically intriguing than anything RHCP has done in over 20 years. The Pluralone has reached a new high on I Don't Feel Well because not only is it filled with some of the greatest art-rock out there, it is also full of some of Klinghoffer's greatest ballads with some of his best compositions yet. Between his soaring falsetto vocals, the swooping synths, the processed drums, and the touching piano ballads, this ... read more
If I liked tracks 8 & 9 better, this album would get an 88 or higher.
I almost didn't listen to this album, because I wasn't a huge fan of the first song. I'm very glad I gave it a shot. Tracks 2-7 are incredible. I have not delved into art rock much, but listening to these songs made me go "Oh yeah, this is art rock." That being said, at times the mixing on this album is a little bit weird, especially in Plank, a song I really enjoyed until the drums came in. Don't Have To is a ... read more
