It’s rare for a rock record to feel this exciting, especially coming from a band seven albums deep and, y’know, from Surrey, but every track ‘SUCKAPUNCH’ feels inspired in some way. Making this album made You Me At Six believe in their band again, and you’d be hard-pressed not to keep the faith too.

You Me At Six appear to be relishing in a brave but thoroughly engaging new persona miles away from the pop-punk sound of the noughties. An astute move all things considered.

SUCKAPUNCH is a win for You Me At Six. It jabs with style, and demonstrates that, far from running out of ideas, this band remain intent on staying at the cutting edge of modern British rock.

Times may be hard, but with enough pressure, the odd diamond might be formed. This time around, You Me At Six shine bright.

2021 doesn’t feel like a year to stay quiet. With ‘SUCKAPUNCH’, You Me At Six are back at full volume.

The experimentation that can be heard across ‘SUCKAPUNCH’ is what rekindled the band’s collective passion for music and their desire to push boundaries could be what allows them to continue to brave the storm of the music industry for another fifteen years, should they still want to.

A melting pot of the band’s real-life influences - with more elements of dance and hip hop thrown into their rock hybrid than ever before - this is a version of You Me At Six we’ve never seen before, and it’s certainly bold.

First actual album review of 2021, esketit.
Bonus points for the cover art, it's so good.

I've seen this name everytime I go to the album aisle in JB Hi-Fi (Australian electronic retail store) in the punk section and I've never bothered to look into the albums or the name. Then Spotify comes through to my notifs telling me about this album, and said screw it and pressed play.

Nothing too negative to say about this one as it has something for everyone. The last few songs got annoying, but otherwise, this was a neat listen.

Not gonna lie, I was intrigued after the head-splitting, catchy opening "Nice to Me", it really got me excited, but unfortunately, it only got worse from this point. The piercing, punk-ish character of the intro kinda fades away throughout the record, making a way for the less cohesive and energetic pop-rock vibe, which is not wrong at all, but in this case, those tracks don't sound as original and convincing.
