Decision Time is a really remarkable comeback, a record that feels fully formed and totally assured of its existence, outside of the normal flow of time, possessed of some deep magic that appears just as glimmers on first listen but which each play brings out more and more.

Decision Time is a fascinatingly well-worked Deep House album drawing on trip-hop and ambient music to create something profoundly dark. The vocal features, although mainly coming from three artists at separate points on the album, often lift the tracks to another level and help give them structure and purpose. This is some great shit. The main issue for me is mostly how unmemorable the more ambient tracks are, but this is easily overlook able If you are a particular fan of the genre.

Charles Webster's first album in 19 years, this feels like an old master returning to his craft. A subtle and intricate electronic album, elements of house music are here but they are resigned to the background, whilst eerier, ambient sounds take centre stage. From the vocal samples to the elements of jazz woven in, this record is one of the most meticulous that I've heard this year.
