The Needle Drop
Reason's sophomore album is as low-impact as his debut.
REASON's biggest problem is that he is just another average rapper with no signature style and no special characteristics that make him stand out that just so happens to be signed to TDE. If he wasn't signed to them, he'd just be another random rapper that nobody had ever heard of.
"New Beginnings" is filled with lackluster verses. There are two songs on here that are definitely highlights, those being "Stories I Forgot" which is a fun trap banger with a high energy, ... read more
My god TDE is such an awfully run label. While the thirst for new Kendrick/Isaiah/SZA/Soul is higher than ever, they stop everything for like a 9 month Reason album rollout. Matching guest verses, well-tuned production - everything is right here (especially nice to see Mereba, Vince and Isaiah here). The most remarkable tracks were released as singles, which cannot but be called a minus. Despite this, it is quite consistent in structure and ... read more
