Ah, yes, Grandson has finally evolved into doing the exact same thing he has been doing for over 2 years but this time with more pop/mainstream influence and less soul.

I had a lot of hope for this record, I held off listening to the singles (though I heard they were relatively alright). Grandson, or Jordan, has received relatively mixed reviews and ratings over the past 3 EPs (and what feels like a ... read more

Death Of An Optimist is exactly what the title suggests, an embrace of pessimism for all the edgelords in the world to worship and oh boy is it just as insufferable as it sounds, if not more so.

Political edginess to the extreme

DOAO is an interesting album which successfully mixes EDM and rock. The album flows well and has the classic grandson sound however this album has moments of mainstream influence which might be a good thing for some but was something I wasn’t a fan of.

Best Songs: WW3, Welcome To Paradise

Worst Songs: Left Behind, Pain Shopping

how the hell could jordan edward benjamin be writing the lyrics to pain shopping and be like "huh this is sick"
