I think the vocals are just about the only thing that keeps me from being bored out lf my mind while listening to this thing. Seriously these instrumentals are passable, and nothing else.
I see tons of potential, if nothing else, and because of Dev's surreal and quite captivating vocals I came out of this project at least somewhat positively.
Lead singer, Dev Hynes shows us his debut LP with crisp vocals and perspective songwriting that resembled a scene inspired by transvestite club culture from a 1990’s documentary. Hynes does a good job of setting the intended moods depending on the track. I did feel like this album was missing vocal range that I know Hynes is very capable of pulling off.
