James Blake is undoubtedly an all-time favorite artist of mine.

Though this maybe some of my least favorite works of his, it is still decent. While I see this as a step down from his recent singles, they have a character about them that fulfills what a project needs as opposed to a single track. The opening track begins with a cluster of sound that I literally hate but for the most part, the EP only rises and gets better from there. We get a noisy build-up that gets wiped out and is followed ... read more

Finally some new James Blake dance material. I've been a fan of this since his debut album. Easily the best EP i've heard this year, i hope he continues in this way. I expected just a bit more from Summer Of Now after the first 30 seconds.

This raised the hairs on my spine. Chilling, but a beauty nonetheless.

This is the 2nd project I have heard from James Blake, the only other one I have heard is his self-titled debut and I love that record, while I can't say I loved this it has its moments and its an incredibly catchy glitch-pop album, nothing mind-blowing though.

Don't get me wrong, this EP has it's small moments and it's very chill and I sorta like it, but there's really nothing to write home about at all. The songs are solid but nothing much I feel the need to come back to this. It's just, decent, but I am still excited for a new full-length LP from him and have high hopes.

Whilst there's nothing crazy about the new James Blake EP, it has some beautiful chill moody, vibey tunes to dance to in your room during the lockdown.

This is an odd one...on one hand I feel like I could end up getting tired by this EP's sound, or absolutely fall in love with it over the coming weeks. As a massive James Blake fan, I hope it's the latter. But for now it's an excellent little EP.

In classic James Blake fashion, it's a solid track list. One that you can both vibe to and/or really put your mind to.

Mesmo que não seja a melhor coisa já feita por James Blake, 'Before' até que rende bons momentos, com destaque para a faixa título e 'Do You Ever' - as quais são bem divertidas para um projeto que parece não ter pretensão alguma.

This is nice. Still looking forward to a bigger, and better, full length project, but I can live with this.

Thank you Mr. Blake.

James Blake is always so interesting, he never does anything that makes me bored.

Wow, I actually enjoyed this quite a bit. Really nice blend of club beats and gorgeous, chill. electronic synths. Vocal performance was heavenly as usual. Solid 4 tracks right here.

Not really sure how I feel about this one.

I’d only heard Assume Form before listening to this, but that was one of my favorite albums of 2019. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but it definitely wasn’t this.

Even though it is only 4 songs, a lot is going on and there is a lot to unpack. There are moments I really like, and some I don’t feel as much. The glitchy house style of production isn’t my favorite, but I think it’s pretty good for what it is. ... read more

This is a peculiar one...

I've been loving James Blake in 2020 so far. From the ambiguous "You're Too Precious", to the luscious "Are You Even Real?", and most recently, his gorgeous Frank Ocean cover of "Godspeed". He also provided a stunning vocal appearance on slowthai's latest track, "Feel Away". But out of blue, he releases "Before", a 4-track, swoony, club-oriented set of alternative rnb tracks, none of which previously released. And now ... read more

James Blake returns to a more club oriented side with a really solid EP that features amazing vocal performances and production.

If you're familiarized with James Blake you know that last year he dropped a record that exhibited a different side from most his old stuff. Assume Form was, to me, a good experience that featured incredible songs and artists, such as the PERFECT appearance from André 3000, also, thanks to said album, I discovered Moses Sumney. It even featured ... read more

This is the beginning of a new era—calm, smooth, pleasant and relaxing music for James Blake.

cool but it's kinda slow and lacks emotion. doesn't really make me want to check out his other stuff.

this isn't anything new or groundbreaking for james, and the last track i'm personally not a fan of, but overall a solid addition to his discography.

"It can be said that, Before, in a way, it’s kinda a heating for the biggest thing that Blake has ever released. Mixing his extremely thoughtful lyrics, carefully filled with smart strings, with the sound that integrates EDM with acoustic, ballad and moments of almost transcendental feelings in an incredible way, Before is the perfect point between the two worlds. James sings romantic lyrics, full of metaphors and true feelings, something that would be almost imaginable in an ... read more

To be honest, the only James Blake album that I’ve listened to is Assume Form (which I love), so I never heard James Blake go for more house-oriented sound. Vibes are on point, but I am hoping for more if he drops an album. Cool release

To be honest I have been extremely excited for this. Since I loved James' last record and the singles leading up to this EP showed that James was still writing some pretty fantastic stuff. Also historically James has been known to make his EP's more dance/garage oriented which is one of my favorite elements of his music. And once again he delivers, while meeting all my expectations. This record is full of subdued, driving dance beats, heavy bass, and of course James' beautiful voice. While this ... read more
