Sabrina Carpenter's debut is a teen pop with inflections towards country. The autopilot of the production team is so insane that it becomes a disservice to her good voice and ok lyrics. It's actually harmful to the melodies. There are a couple of songs that barely manage to pull through and those make this listening experience less unbearable. Even when I was their target audience I couldn't stand this and that says a lot.
Eyes so wide, I’m sure she can see me through the screen… unfortunately, she couldn’t see what route she takes in the future because this falls super flat in comparison.
Pop cliché and an extremely normal sound, this is the Wild Eyes Open, a good album that which is proposed.
