The Grandbrothers is the duo Erol Sarp and Lukas Vogel out of Dusseldorf, Germany. The two collaborate nicely on All The Unknown. Sarp at the grand piano while Vogel manipulates sound via his electronic music prowess results in this propulsive neo-classical recording. Each track sightly varies from sounding like the other, which, for me, has given it a bit more credibility as the album winds its way through the thirteen tracks. Got goosebumps several times listening to the majestic and stunning piano on this ambient record. Four Rivers is probably the most beautiful track i've heard in 2021 so far!

Cinematic and dense, the two adjectives that describe this slightly epic sound .

The delicate and sweet melodies open the way for the thrilling and arrhythmic percussion that creates this grand and cathartic atmosphere that prevails in most of the tracks, thus making a contrast with moments like "Auberge" that deliver us delicious pieces of ambient music, putting us in a soothing and serene state that quickly ends with the entry of tracks like "Organism" that emotionally ... read more
