Clash
An often hit and miss experience, ‘Featuring’ exposes the vast creativity of feature culture, while also platforming its flaws. An unwieldy listen that still carries huge expectation, Ty Dolla $ign’s latest album holds nothing back – that’s its beauty, but also its deepest flaw.

NME
It’s a victory lap for Ty Dolla $ign’s quietly influential career to date, the sound of an artist embracing the worldview he has helped to curate.

musicOMH
His newest release is an hour-long suite that aims to pack in as many hooks, guests, melodies and trap beats as possible, and succeeds with flying colours.

AllMusic
It's a testament to his vision and do-it-all ability that he can work with roughly 50 fellow producers and guest artists and line up the results for an hour-long set with tracks that flow forth like they're being decanted. Moreover, this is a strong reaffirmation of his eagerness to adapt to any set of collaborators.

Pitchfork

Featuring cements his legacy as a singular, eminent artist — a point he has made again and again and again, but he still sounds so good proving it.

70
Rolling Stone

Featuring Ty$ reaffirms his gifts as a savvy songwriter who knows precisely how and when to introduce tension, dimension, and even warmth to his casual womanizing.

Slant Magazine
The album is a mostly enjoyable listen, but it highlights its maker’s shortcomings as much as it does his sly appeal.

There was a really good album somewhere in here, but unfortunately there’s just too much filler and it’s just too long to really be as good as it could be.

Don’t get me wrong: this album is pretty decent; It’s just that it should have been cut in half. There’s just too many generic and uninteresting movements, and it’s hard to stay attentive for an hour when there is this much filler, even if there are many highlights. With that being said, the production on ... read more

ppl talking about "filler" must not have listened to a ty dolla sign album before. filler is part of the experience. initial reaction is that this bangs, ty is one of the best artists of the decade full stop, and i'm high as shit.

This man got the whole-ass music industry on this album and STILL can’t make an album above a 5/10.

So much about Featuring Ty Dolla $ign screams “ft. Ty Dolla $ign.” Every time I went into a track across this thing I was more excited to see who it was featuring rather than to see what Ty Dolla $ign himself brought to the table across this record. Ty Dolla $ign wasn’t bad here- in fact far from it, I actually enjoyed a decent amount of Ty’s solo cuts, but when ... read more

Featuring Ty Dolla $ign.

Over the past few years, Ty Dolla $ign has taken quite the career path, acting as the world's favorite feature artist. Though his solo catalog is largely overlooked by the hip-hop community, Ty's feature game is one of the most respected out of any artist working today. Of course he's most known for his collaborations with Kanye West, such as Freeee (Ghost Town Pt. 2), Everything We Need, and Fade, but his ability to lay down harmonies and hooks is also super apparent ... read more
