Northern Transmissions
At three songs, it’s a short set, but impressive in how Yanya uses the few tracks to create memorable tunes.

‘Feeling Lucky?’ is not necessarily a sure signifier of the direction that the follow-up to ‘Miss Universe’ will eventually take - all three of the EPs that preceded that album had their own distinct identities - but it does suggest that she remains locked in to a rich vein of songwriting form.

Beats Per Minute

These songs are raw with emotion yet equally polished and fun.

The London jazz-pop musician is at her most opaque on a new three-song EP, yet these tracks are as evocative and affecting as any in her catalog.

Nilüfer is empowered on this record, knowing what she wants to say and saying it like she’s holding it on a placard above her head.

Why is everything that came out tonight so good??
All of these songs are so good. Day 7.5093 is probably one of my favorite songs from her ever.

Nilüfer Yanya’s voice may be defined as infinite earworms.
Her voice is just an extra instrument that no other artist or band is blessed to have on their side. The second this thing kicks on, it’s immediately a great follow up to Miss Universe. I guess all one could hope for now is her next album?
Second song is a vibe. Her voice is abnormally smoky and I find myself wondering, is there any limit to what Nilüfer can be? Maybe not a full realization of this type of song for ... read more

FAVORITE TRACK: Day 7.5093

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: none

I was a big fan of Nilüfer Yanya's last album. The instrumentals of Crash are great- the roaring and loud guitar is a great contrast to Yanya's light vocals. Same Damn Luck has amazing vocals. Day 7.5093 has this great baseline and this incredible, cheery chorus. Overall, this EP/single pack is short but all these songs pack a punch and are so catchy and good and are some of Yanya's best work to date.

Somewhere in this album, you can hear a slight progression in Nilufer's music. The subtler this change is, the sweeter it is.
