Drowned in Sound
Fascinatingly and thankfully, they’ve grasped that the elegant sound we all need to hear right now, is one that gives us space to punctuate our thoughts and the result is pure bliss. Easily one of 2011’s finest releases.

Loud and Quiet
Off the back of a prolific few months of intelligent, alternative pop, ‘New Look’ is expertly fashioned, set to cutely coax awkward shapes to unassuming, hip-snaking rhythms and irritatingly infectious melodies.

DIY
Whilst New Look could be accused of favouring style over substance, there is more than enough on this outstanding debut to suggest that they will be around for a very long time.

Clash

Largely down to Sarah Ruba’s versatile voice, the punchy electro of ‘Teen Need’ and opulent melodrama of ‘The Ballad’ ensures ‘New Look’ is pleasingly playable.
