I went into this album without previewing anything on it. I didn't listen to the singles and signed this off as a mediocre melodic hardcore album. I was completely wrong. This truly feels like an album developed through the Coronavirus pandemic and one that really shows the value of life within its lyrics. It's sad, it's mournful, and at times, it feels hopeless. Passionate and sad, The Greatest Mistake of My Life celebrates life while facing death. With this premise, I expected this to be a great project, but I just don't feel it at all. Nonetheless, it's a decent alternative rock project with some post-hardcore traces, I just wish there was more substance to it.
Afterlife is an absolute banger, but the rest is pretty forgettable.
Had a cute lil space in my heart for holding absence after making me break down in tears in my car with older works. This record feels very juvenile and uninspired, trying to replicate the exact formula that worked for them a few years prior. While they still post hard hitting tracks, there are so many moments that feel grossly cringey and makes me super upset that this is the turn they’ve made.

Taking a step back, it’s not bad, just frustrating for me personally
