The History of The Albums – n°355

The adventure was only temporary, only 2 years and 1 month, but Buffalo Springfield is an ultimate reference of West Coast Rock, as much for the band as for the members who founded it. Influential actor of Folk Rock, Country Rock and Psychedelic, the Californian group is a mix of Americans and Canadians who initiated the beginnings of Stephen Sills, Neil Young or Richie Furay. The latter will mark the history in a more significant way in various ... read more

1001 albums you must hear before you die #80

I don't understand why all the reviews for this album are so positive, I found this to be a really boring horribly mixed letdown of an experience. The guitar playing is good but outside of that the vocals are underwhelming, the mixing total dogshit, and there's not even enough going on to get me to look past the non-existent choruses. Overall more solid than their debut, Mr. Soul is hella catchy and Bluebird might be my 2nd favorite song of theirs behind FWIW

Great psychedelic folk record, though the first half is much better than the second.

It has a strong Beatles vibe throughout, with a good dose of experimentation and bluesy&country sounds that add to the atmospheric qualities of this album
