Gauntlet Hair's self-titled debut is the most compelling demonstration yet of the band's knack for headphones-friendly fist-pumpers.

Consequence of Sound

It’s hard to ignore the noise now, as their first full length proves to be a commanding venture with unrelenting attitude.

As exciting as this record is, as much as it challenges other similar bands to step their game up, it’s own love of shimmering layers still ends up holding it back some.

Drowned in Sound

There is a lot to like about Gauntlet Hair - they've just made it that bit too difficult to get at it.

Beats Per Minute

They draw too much influence from past successes in music and aren’t able to mesh that with their sound.

No Ripcord

Gauntlet Hair has the shape and form of an ugly, mucky mutation spewed forth from whatever’s currently topping the charts on Sirius XMU.
