Loud and Quiet

Aside from its tighter presentation of Virginia Wing’s existing sound, private LIFE benefits from a doubled-down dedication to the specific wild abandon only pop can offer.

musicOMH

Undaunted by the pressures they continue to face, Virginia Wing present a disarming form of resistance to life’s troubles.

DIY

Cathartic, abstract and certainly treading off the beaten path, the tactile trio Virginia Wing present their latest, more unruly album ‘private LIFE’, tapping into a plethora of diverse weird and wonderful influences.

The Guardian

Singer Alice Merida Richards combines her calm sprechgesang with rage against millennial misogyny, offset by rich earwormy electronics.

AllMusic

As they lean into the more experimental side of their music, Virginia Wing share a rich inner life that reveals more with each listen.

Uncut

Here Virginia Wing plunge deeper into their idiosyncratic world. The result is less immediate and infectious but perhaps more complex and expansive.

I love that Virginia Wing as a band experimented with newer, more interesting sounds while also keeping the backbone of their music prominent throughout this new album.

An okay record. Has some nice moments, nevers has a bad moment, but also doesn’t have special moments.
