this one’s a beautiful and yet haunting debut that, for the most part, addresses a relationship up to the beginning down to its end, with development around all corners featured. the tenderness passed on through Paris’ vocals to articulate her feelings sounded as soft as silk, but not much was really needed given the folksy ambience that focused on the songwriting, even if it’s quite dull and a bit frivolous at times, though still having its depth and magic to it altogether. ... read more

Going from the Soundflowers to Wilted is a beautifully haunting trajectory, and Jackson shines when her music has macabre vibes like in Wilted, which is in my opinion the best song she's released as of yet.
The fruit does not fall too far from the tree does it? While this may not be the innovative music of MJ, he would be proud of the quality of this. Seeing folk/singer songwriter as genres, I did not expect to like this as much as I do. It very much has elements in the alternative-R&B vein as well that we hear so much these days. As the list below shows, it is a great consistent album featuring some of my favourite songs that I've heard for a while.
