AllMusic

Sin Miedo (Del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞ marks the spot where Uchis comes into her own, not only as a true song stylist but also as an innovator.

NME
On ‘Sin Miedo…’, she oozes effortless confidence as she follows her songs down an eclectic map of trails. Language barrier or not, it’s a divine second album.
80
The Arts Desk

Sin Miedo is an album which matches Uchis’ vocal prowess with narcotic, dreamy downtempo grooves, angelic voices smeared all over, as if long gone smooth session regulars The Mike Sammes Singers were having it out with the alt-R&B of Frank Ocean.

Pitchfork
On her first Spanish-language LP, the Colombian American singer eclipses crossover appeal with a moody, hopscotch pop take on the boleros, reggaetón, and Latin soul of her youth.

Beats Per Minute

The main takeaway from Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞ is that Kali can still write great material while singing in a completely different language – if that was ever in doubt. It isn’t as impactful as Isolation, but there are plenty of moments on this record where Kali shows great potential that she may yet make that truly fantastic Spanglish R&B album.

Loud and Quiet

San Miedo has broadened Uchis’ horizons whilst augmenting what made Isolation such a stirring opening statement – she deserves to have her fans clear the language hurdle to join her.

70
The Needle Drop

While by no means a sophomore slump, Sin Miedo may leave the listener a little too hungry for more.

60
The Observer

This album doesn’t feel much like Uchis’s artistic step-up, her Norman Fucking Rockwell or El Mal Querer, but more like a suck-it-and-see step on – a hastily released album that suggests her best is yet to come.

Gigwise

Kali Uchis follows her breakthrough debut Isolation with an excavation of Spanish-speaking roots buried amongst some arduous romantics.

Evening Standard

Overall this is a pleasant place to be. That breakout moment will come another time.

In 2018, Kali Uchis released one of the most personality-filled R&B albums of recent memory with Isolation. This debut was filled with majestic and beautiful neo-soul/R&B anthems which showed so much potential for Kali to make something truly amazing in the future. She followed this up with an EP that was released earlier this year, TO FEEL ALIVE. That EP, to me, was enjoyable at first but it quickly lost its flavor as it was not nearly as replayable, chocked full of personality, or ... read more

8.7 - Amazing

What a treat. She really had me worried with this one, and all of that went away.

This new Kali Uchis album surprised me a ton. I was worried about it because the singles sounded pretty similar to Isolation, and I was hoping she would switch things up and not play it safe, which is exactly what she did. The rest of the album sounds COMPLETELY different from the singles, with a lot more of an introspective and chill vibe, with a more of a spacey and traditional sound, that ... read more
