Some of The Raging River might pose a cautionary tale of a band vulnerable to their own standards, but at its strongest, this EP is a firm reassertion of why it’s become quite reasonable to accept nothing but the very best from them.


Strikes me as a solid heavy metal record with powerful and earth-moving vocals. The first two tracks are a taste of what is to come in the final two tracks, with the middle track being a calm interlude. The build up in the final 12 minute track has you feeling like you're running from something.

Doom metal, sludge metal and post metal all melded into an E.P/mini album that hits hard. Some moments feel a bit overly cliched, but its high points are gorgeous.

Decent atmosludge EP, but I don't find anything in particular that sounds innovative or at least unique.
Yeah, this really isn’t doing anything for me. I know this is sludge but it’s way to slow/plodding and not nearly heavy enough to work. When I’m listening to records like this I want to feel suffocated and oppressed - with this I just feel like I’m sat at a bar with some band playing in the background. It’s dull.
