From top to bottom, Good News vibrates with the infectious confidence and defiance of Meg’s straight-to-camera flow.
The Good News about this album is that Megan exceeded expectations by delivering a memorable debut project ... The authenticity of her sound and the sincerity of her delivery takes this project up a level.
Good News is ... chock-full of catchy hooks, stellar verses and feisty attitude.
On her debut album, ... we ought to know what to expect: single entendres, graphic imagery and bulletproof self-confidence.
Arriving in the wake of several releases and countless show-stealing features, Good News is a shining culmination of all the work Megan’s put in, yet it avoids being weighed down by the sense of too many cooks in the kitchen.
On her debut, the 25-year-old combines West Coast samples with the Southern sounds of her youth. The message: she's staying sunny, despite her setbacks.
While Megan Thee Stallion presented herself as a force to be reckoned with from her earliest material, Good News finds her triple-X-rated sex rhymes, imposing charm, and ability to make it all appear effortless reaching new levels.
A high-octane, heavy-hitting rejoinder that rearticulates the headlines of a year fraught by global and personal trauma for the Houston rapper.
Good News isn’t meant to be a simple introduction. It’s Megan Thee Stallion at her most agile and hi-def. It’s our invitation to the coronation of this generation’s hip-hop royalty.
Megan Thee Stallion may be the biggest breakout star of the entire year, moving from a talented up-and-comer to one of the biggest names in the entire music industry. Hot Girl Summer last year was her first big move into the mainstream, but that pales in comparison to her two number one singles in 2020, one of which is one of the biggest singles of the entire year. WAP is probably the biggest crossover moment in which Stallion was no longer a name to watch but instead a name we all knew, but ... read more
Megan Thee Stallion made the best album by a horse I have ever heard and I have nothing but respect for this manly horse because it is some of the best horse rapping I have ever heard and I must say I actually did enjoy it very much but let me just tell you all the story behind this album because I have a very interesting story about this album and I will also review it at the same time so lsts go and get started so basically I was riding this stallion and it was called megan and I said hey ... read more
This is my least favourite full length Megan project so far. This doesn’t sound like a unified project. The closet thing you could call a theme is sexual relations, (and I don’t have a problem with this theme obviously), but even that is talked about quite superficially.
The sound of this album is also all over the place. Plenty of trap, but also Afrobeat, and retro beats. It doesn’t always fit well together. Some of the production is just absurd/ weird and not always in an ... read more
Álbum de estreia da Megan, com vários produtores com um trabalho impecável e feats, foi um excelente início para a carreira dela. Minhas faixas favoritas foram "Circles", "Work That" e "Don't Work Me To Sleepy". Ouvir esse trabalho completo me fez gostar ainda mais do flow da Megan, é simplesmente perfeito.
