Megan The Stallion is back with Good News. After a disappointing EP with Suga which showed Megan toying around with generic autotune and much more boring instrumentals than what she typically landed on prior to that EP’s release, Megan seems to be back on her shit here. While I’ve never loved Megan before, Fever was a pretty decent mixtape. That being said, this album comes pretty close to topping that album. Ultimately, this album succumbs to long album syndrome and ends up feeling ... read more

Megan Thee Stallion is a household name by now and she has easily already established herself as one of the most polarizing rapstars in recent times and all of her success is definitely deserved as she is capable of making hit. Not only is she capable of that but she can also rap way better than her peers, she's easily one of the best female trap rappers out there. Even though there's not much worthy competition, it's still a compliment.

I'd definitely want her to flourish into a much more ... read more

Megan Thee Stallion may be the biggest breakout star of the entire year, moving from a talented up-and-comer to one of the biggest names in the entire music industry. Hot Girl Summer last year was her first big move into the mainstream, but that pales in comparison to her two number one singles in 2020, one of which is one of the biggest singles of the entire year. WAP is probably the biggest crossover moment in which Stallion was no longer a name to watch but instead a name we all knew, but ... read more

The only "Good News" here is that it isn't as bad as WAP. Other than that, there isn't much to say, it's not bad but not good either. This further extends my opinion on how overrated Megan is.

*SHORT REVIEW ALERT! MATTHEW COULD NOT THINNK OF ANYTHING INTERESTING TO SAY ABOUT THIS ALBUM, SO THIS REVIEW IS SHORT. SHORT REVIEW ALERT!*

Megan is talented, but this album is just so boring and chock-full of filler. Some songs show some promise, like the opener, which doesn't pull any punches dissing Tory Lanez (nor should it), but this album just gets so annoying and one-sided. Megan consistently picks boring trap beats to rap over that range from maybe okay to absolutely horrid (Cry Baby ... read more

New household name Megan Thee Stallion just debuted for real, and I thank her for it. There's no fucking doubt she has IT!, the whole package a.k.a star power. The album has a track for every mood possible, except for 'Sugar Baby', I'm sorry Meg but this track is garbage, as for the rest everything slaps on it's own. The highlights are of course: Body, Freaky Girls, Go Crazy, Girls in the Hood, Don't Stop and What's New. Imma be honest this album would probably be better with just 10-12 tracks. ... read more

Edit: @cold told me to just have fun with it, it worked! :)

Man, Megan is certainly making moves in the music industry, but they aren't the most creative or interesting moves. I'm probably underrating this by quite a bit (if I waned to give this a positive rating, it would probably be 65), but I know that I certainly did not like Megan's debut album sadly. I was super excited when this was announced as Megan is the number one rising female rapper in the music industry and I knew that this ... read more

Megan Thee Stallion's official debut album here, and while she's not been my favourite artist at all, she is very talented on the mic and can not only flow well, but can spit funny and clever bars when she wants to. Her mixtape 'Fever' from last year was relatively entertaining and 'Wap' really was a cultural moment this year for how incredibly popular it got for how raunchy it was. So, coming off a single as white-hot as that, how was Megan going to capitalise on that this year? And you know ... read more

Megan finally drops her debut album and oh boy,it's a stellar debut. I guess she got "fired" up for this one. I actually didn't expect something this fucking good, but fuck me,this album bangs all the way through, for me,at least. She comes in with her classy, but nasty, confident attitude and character ... read more

I absolutely love Megan and I thought Fever was a great project. SUGA disappointed me, and while this is better than that project, it still doesn’t reach the enjoyability of Fever.

What makes this feel like a step backwards is that while her personality and technical ability is there and as fun as ever, the production and beat selection is not as good as it could be, especially for an artist as big as Megan. Also the album doesn’t start off great once we get past the intro, as ... read more

Misogyny Juice.

Update: In all fairness I dont like this album because of the sound, not necessarily the content or meg as a rapper. I've never been a fan of this style of hip hop.

Megan Thee Stallion releases a project with no focus and very underwhelming lyrical performances.

Lyrically she hasn't been much worse than this. Every song has the same substance, sex. Yeah, that's this entire record. It gets really old really quickly as it's apparent that Megan starts running out of unique things to say and goes back to lines that she's already made. There really isn't any wordplay throughout this project at all and Megan's flows are really generic and fail to impress. ... read more

Megan Thee Stallion's debut LP is a collection of lackluster rap performances with mostly corny and repetitive lyrics. I'm not sure if the critics were very horny for Meg or what, but they are out of their minds giving this album 8's and 9's...and a 10?? I somewhat agree with Gigwise in that Meg does consistently display a near-unrivaled amount of confidence. However, it doesn't matter if you're the most confident person in the world, it's not gonna make your music any better.

Decent 5/10

Only at the beginning, in the middle of this interval and at the very end, this project is a very smart, solid thing. However, at other times, everything goes to the typical.

Ever since I first really started paying attention, around the release of her Suga EP earlier this year, Megan Thee Stallion has struck me as an artist I wanted to love, but she consistently gives me reasons not to be so eager. For the most part I enjoyed Suga, and I loved Hot Girl Summer, which was my first real exposure to Megan. I have been slowly been enjoying her stuff more and more with the singles from this album, and of course WAP, her explosive collaboration with Cardi B. She ... read more

REAL HOT GIRL SHIT, AH 🐴

Good News is the new album from Megan, and I have to say I’m disappointed. Which sucks.

Megan Thee Stallion is a great rapper. You can’t deny it, no matter how much you hate on her. Her technical skill is great with some great flows, fun personality and lyricism, and great breath control. However, she hasn’t been able to release a great album. Fever was good, although not great and she could’ve done better, and the SUGA EP was ... read more

"Good News comes in the era that many like to call “Post-WAP” ― the collaboration with Cardi B that was likely the trigger for Stallion’s success ― and “Post-Lanez” ― which refers to the case of Tory Lanez shooting in Stallion. For many this may not seem like a big deal, however, it was from this transition that Megan became much more than a great musician. She stopped simply making erotic songs that were outlined within the standards of hit songs and ... read more

After an underwhelming excursion earlier this year with "SUGA", Megan Thee Stallion is back on her southern shit and I'M LOVING IT!

Meg has stated plenty of times about how she's inspired by artists like Juicy J or the early 2000's Memphis scene. This is her mixing those influences with modern trends and melding it into a fresh style of its own. The album might be a bit bloated but I can't deny how entertaining Meg's raw charisma and energy are on a majority of these tracks.
