In the end, there’s a pure, unadulterated joy on display here; a spiritual likeness closer to the early new wave of Killing Joke and The Cure – or aforementioned 90s alternative rock – than to the poetic nostalgia of the indie generation.
‘Ongoing Dispute’ isn’t just the strongest material the band has released to date, but is filled with progress, lust and learning.
Had they been performed by any other band, these regularly mawkish and sorrowful lyrics could have tipped the album over into an joyless torrent of petulant whining but the Danish rockers’ mish mash of catchy hooks and reflective self-awareness skilfully instil just the right amount of vitality so as to prevent that outcome from happening.
This is no blistering return, but a pleasant one nonetheless.
It might not immediately blow you away, but the slower appeal of Ongoing Dispute can still help make up some lost ground for this talented, enigmatic band.
If emotionally unresolved, Ongoing Dispute does deliver on engaging hooks and rousing choruses.
Where do I start with this album? Not only did it instantly grab my attention from the first note as the smooth basslines commence with anti-guitar but it also felt familiar yet I thought it needed more listens to appraise fairly and I didn’t actually know why. A pesar de tener una beta subrayada de melancolía Ongoin Dispute tiene una vitalidad única. No me gustan las comparativas mas hay algo que me recuerda al The Cure temprano; tal vez un dejo de tristeza fugaz pero perpetuo a lo largo de las canciones.

I find it somewhat relaxing, and makes me feel nostalgic for some reason. Reminds me of the Black Foxxes S/T but with an indie rock style.
