After the misstep that was Universal Mind Control (2008) and in the midst of his beef with Drake, Common comes back strong with The Dreamer / The Believer. Gems like the Nas-assisted “Ghetto Dreams”, the Maya Angelou featured “The Dreamer”, the subliminal Drake-dis "Sweet”, and the reflective “Lovin’ I Lost”, (about the end of his relationship with Serena Williams), are some of the stand-outs, but there are no weak tracks on The Dreamer / The ... read more

Common and No I.D. provide an incredibly smooth record with many quality tracks.

Common always sets the bar high with excellent production (thanks to his ability to seamlessly change with the times) and superb lyrical quality (usually these days focusing on conscious but very much pop rap lyrics). This album fails to jump out and remain as memorable as much as his other titles.
