GOOD
Gaahl would later go on to absolutely destroy Gorgoroth and turn them into a punchline within the black metal community, but his first album with duties as the sole lead vocalist wasn't that bad. There's one awful track (When Love Rages Wild in My Heart is one of their worst songs), but nearly everything else is pretty sweet.
I guess you can't do these kind of wacky changes to a Black Metal formula without losing fans' steem. A very vocally hated album in some sectors of the metal community but with a nice cult following surrounding the record.
