This is the ultimate thot music judging by the lyrics... reminds me of a real life friend of mine lol. Lovely. I can feel a certain degree of irony in the lyrics, and if anything, it makes this album oh so more melancholy and intentionally bitchy, in a good way. This is the type of whining that I can appreciate.

Honestly, Lana + hip hop influences is a pleasant surprise for me.

Looking past the bland lyrical content, Born To Die was an extremely surprising listen for me. Lana's voice, while it is pretty whispery and drawn out, has some sort of appeal that I can't really pinpoint. I can listen to this album over and over, but it's still far from any pop masterpiece that I heard praises of back when it was released.

fav tracks: Born To Die, Summertime Sadness, Carmen

Lana has created the most atmospheric pop record I've ever heard, I have no love for pop anything, but this is amazing.

with the paradise edition this album creates an enormous aura of oblivion that makes you get away from reality and stay in the permanent sunset dream unconsciously being connected with your soul. some songs that consist of classical music or do end with a melody of wind instruments complement each thread of your mind and maybe (who knows?) one day someone will be able to solve the most mysterious secrets of humanity.

As a huge Lana fan I adore this album with all of my heart, but Born To Die definitely had some flaws. The most notable is that it reflected her immaturity as an artist, and I think her other albums certainly show how much she's grown and evolved into a beautiful, well-rounded artist. Luckily, she was able to save this album and make it enjoyable due to her vocal and lyrical complexity, but the production of this album could have been better. It lacked direction, while Ultraviolence, ... read more

I want to believe this LP is full of irony.

Born to Die does start very well but things feel too samey after the first few tracks. I know everyone says it but I do really find Lana Del Rey's vocals appealing, apart from the weird fucking tacky ad-libs throughout the record. I can get behind the washed out summery vibe here even though the emotional factors of the music are a bit infantile. It's alright, a decent starting block if nothing else.

"Born to Die" is so attached to death that it becomes a forced concept throughout the album. However, it has the biggest hits of Lana's career and her most iconic songs.

Is a bad produced album, but still with good songs. Some lyrics can be a little polemic, but still audible.

Esse álbum é a prova de que existe alguma divindade por aí. Álbum coeso, letras sinceras e belas, sonoridade incrível, instrumental maravilhoso. Born to Die: excelente do início ao fim! Não consigo nem considerar isso como álbum, e sim como um livro sagrado, uma carta divina, um guia espiritual.

"Born To Die" sounds more like a rehearsal to what Lana Del Rey would be in years. It's beautiful at times but also very unfinished.

Ja fui muito fã, hoje em dia a temática me cansa, e muito, mas é isso né, fixou a lana como uma das principais cantoras alternativas e ainda ampliou e popularizou uma estética tumblr girl.

Her worst album. The poor production of this record makes it so repetitive, the lyrics are so arrogant and already seen years ago. She was not ready for making an album at that time

... read more

This is a batch of lyrically repetitive, hip-hop/torch-infused pop songs with the allure of an alternative songstress. This was a point for her where she had to face the blog-hype of "Video Games" and move beyond the atrocity that was her SNL performance. She may not have released an album full of "Video Games" level music, but she sure topped that live performance and gave her audience a fun fifteen song romp through lust and depression with some high-hats and lush ... read more

Grant's debut album is fatidicly incredible and powerful, there's no turning back after that mental trance this will have us hooked by its magical and warm atmosphere of trip hop alongside the most dazzling songs of her career.

► BEST TRACKS: "Born to Die", "Blue Jeans", "Video Games" "Radio", "Carmen" and "Summertime Sadness"
► WORST TRACKS: Not good as the rest are... hahaha!! "Diet Mountain Dew"

Ah, yes the album that polarized pop culture. Lizzy Grant makes her debut as Lana Del Rey- the maleancholic, old Hollywood enigma that still makes considerable buzz past her 2012 debut. Dropping in right after her viral "Video Games", this album is something for the history books (yes! I said it!). Lana Del Rey swoons through the tracks in her incredibly unique voice but she's at her best when she's got that ghetto swagger in tracks like "Off To The Races" and "This Is ... read more
