This album feels solid and beautiful, the beginning is very very strong and then it turns into a sunny kinda romantic daydream. Alice Phoebe Lou is an artist that I haven't been paying attention but now I will. She has a flair to her style, remind me a lot of the new indie girls that debuted these last few years, yet I can tell she has a touch of the old alternative divas as well.
This is just a really nice record. This was my introduction to Alice Phoebe Lou’s music and I’m fully on board. This album is interesting because it has a lot of sounds that feel very recycled in the genre but they feel pretty refreshing here. The lyricism is pretty good, I like the glistening production, and I think that Alice Phoebe Lou’s voice is very pretty. Yeah, I’m liking this project.
I was kind of disappointed in this...just because I didn't fall in love as quickly as with her other releases. But I will always stan
Such a lustful record! I fell absolutely in love with ‘Only When I’ and ‘Lover // Over the moon’ *-* Unfortunately the album has a lot of predictable moments instrumentally, though its beauty remains intact.
Unfortunately, whilst in Paper Castles, Alice Phoebe Lou was starting to create her own style and path in the indie rock scene, in this new instalment we find her less imaginative falling under the status quo of contemporary indie-oriented female singer songwriters. There are still glimpses of originality here and there, but these moments are not big enough to make Glow, well, glow.
