Perhaps that line best sums up this album. The supergroup of Nas, AZ, Foxy Brown and Nature watched too much Scarface and now think they're mobsters. Mafioso rap, the subgenre started by Kool G Rap, became a staple of east coast hip hop in the mid/late 90's. So first, this album cover is a cheap remodel of The Fugees' album. Second and more importantly, the music is a middle ground between late 90's Nas and the shiny suit, jiggy era ushered in by Bad Boy at the time. Both of those are easily two of my least favorite styles of hip hop, so to pair the two together is a recipe for Rollo_P depression. Why bother with this album when IWW does everything it does better?

If you've heard 'It Was Written,' you certainly recognize the track 'Affirmative Action.' The song that featured Nas's past collaborator AZ, the female rapper Foxy Brown who was starting to blow up around the time, and the relatively unknown Cormega. They formed a supergroup together, along with fellow rapper Nature. They got signed by Dr. Dre and released their debut album under Aftermath, and it hit number 1 on the Billboard charts!
