So this is like pychedelic, prog, folk, Ska?, Polka?? Like Zappa but also like Ween but also like They Might Be Giants but also nothing at all like them? Sometimes they bang on scrap metal sometimes they bust out a ukelele sometimes they use steel drums sometimes they use instruments I don't know the name of. I genuinely don't know how to describe it. I know it's fucking awesome tho.
This kinda of genre hopping is ... read more

Had no clue what to expect from this album at all, and tbh, I really loved this album so damn much! I really like albums that change their style with pretty much every song on the album. The pure weirdness with some of these genre changes is so damn good, with the genres ranging really fucking far and wide, that it's really interesting for pretty much the full hour that it lasts for. It's just so damn energetic and lively that it just makes for such a fun as fuck time. ... read more
Esto es México. A esto suena México.
One of the most varied and diverse sounding records I’ve listened to. It makes sense, considering the country the band is from, and also the country the album revolves around.
I’d probably compare this to Ween, if they actually knew Mexican culture. Varied, energetic, genre salad and filled with humor and satire. Really loved this.

It's great, weird, sometimes off putting but never ever boring, hard to believe this camen out almost 30 years ago but Café Tacvba gave it their all and it came out as a classic album that sounds fresh today and will continue to do so for a very long time
