R.A.P. Ferreira has taken the best parts of his previous album, Purple Moonlight Pages, and refined them to the point where it sounds effortless.

The Needle Drop

While not one of Ferreira's most robust releases, bob's son is peppered with interesting and enjoyable ideas.

Happy new year everybody!

I'd like to forget all the bullshit that happened in 2020, particularly yesterday, and take this new year as a tool to start off fresh and revaluate some of the ideals I've been working with until now, down below are some small announcements and a token of appreciation for everybody who followed me at the bottom:

Firstly, I'd like to start with the least important decision I had to make, that being that I'll no longer be reviewing singles. This was an ... read more
After taking up the R.A.P. Ferreira moniker with last year’s Purple Moonlight Pages, the artist formerly known as Milo released one of his most personal and topical records to date. Sadly, Bob’s Son merely feels like afterthoughts that were quickly and roughly assembled to make a worse than anticipated epilogue to Purple Moonlight Pages.

This is my first introduction to him and it's great, if the rest of his music is like this then I will definitely give it a shot. The rapping sounds oddly distorted at some parts, but I like it and his flow is unimaginably good. Folks, listen to this!!!! It is not your average rap album and I'm sure it go down as one of the best rap albums of the year.

FAV TRACK: diogenes on the auction block
As someone who has enjoyed the conscious jazz rap style for a handful of years now it's a bummer to me that Ferreira fell off the map in my personal music exposure. I first became aware of the artist back in 2015 with the release of So The Flies Don't Come after he was featured on the Busdriver album Thumbs alongside Anderson .Paak, who I also started to explore around the same time. His style on Worlds to Run, paired with Busdriver and .Paak, immediately got me interested and demanded I dig ... read more
