Side B is not Eminem at his absolute best, but it’s substantial in the larger context of Hip Hop — and sure to keep Stans satisfied. Unfortunately for those praying on his (musical) downfall, you’ll have to keep holding your breath.
During the flashes when the artist born Marshall Mathers feels free of this critical gaze ... this surprise Christmas gift to diehard stans, Music to Be Murdered By - Side B, soars something brilliant.
Eminem might be getting older but he’s not going gently – he’s sticking around to commit his time to verse, crying surprise until one day a real surprise might show up.
Truly, Side B is hard to unpack. The very fact that it’s Mathers’ loosest album in quite some time is the reason why so many have found weaknesses to peck away at, yet those very people pecking are the same who’ve long found the rapper’s work to be too try-hard and self-serious.
Having offered the public Music to be Murdered By at the start of this year, Eminem has returned to finish the job with the surprise release of a Side B that acts as an equal companion, not hasty offcuts.
These days, his diatribes fit safely within the margins of mainstream agitation, no matter how much he’d like us to believe he’s still pushing the envelope.
this (the) epitome
of so so bad that its good
you can tell that he's
having fun making
these stupid ass songs, riddled
with so so many
corny lines, i had
fun listening him losing
his goddamn mind , yes
I don't know if Music to Be Murdered By: Side B sounds like a real sequel, if it's a catalogue of songs not chosen for the first side or if it's a mixture of both, but in any case this new volume is not equipped to catch up with the initial one. On the contrary Side B supports the fact that despite an interesting theme that suits him well, Eminem is not suited to release this kind of album. In my opinion, this is not only one more disillusionment, it's worse.

I honestly don't mind this. The beats are 100x better than what I am used to Eminem over, and he is corny as shit, but this is kinda what his music is now. It really is dad rap, but eminem, even when he is making horrible bars, he is making them sound good
