Spin

The Amateur View works subtle modulation to its advantage, moving from the dryly ironic to the maudlin with the twist of a knob.

With electronic music growing ever duller and more detached, the analog optimism of Kreidler, To Rococo Rot and their peers ... feels like a warm blanket. It's the soul of the new machine, as comforting as it is gorgeously strange.

Finds a happy medium between Krautrock (Can), atmospheric IDM (Boards of Canada) and minimal techno (Mouse on Mars) all tied together with a ‘last flush of the ‘90s’ vibe.

Hypnotic ambience and robotic grooves.

On their third album, To Rococo Rot have, just as their album cover artwork suggests, flowered. The soundscapes they are now producing are their finest yet, and appear more organic, rather than meticulously planned. A definitive step in the right direction.
