one of my favorite bands ever. they somehow constantly managed to make their signature sound more and more enticing to the ear
Split the difference between some elements of Low, Deathcab and Yo La Tengo and you have the dreamy pleasantly dreamy, without being boring, lush and deeply quiet subtle beauty of the American Analog Set. Hushed to a fault, which may have been to their long-term detriment, the large part of their discography stayed in the high 90s without moving away from this sound.
