I LOVE MELT-BANANA
P.s I did not fucking know Mike Patton was in the track of "Area 877". He killed it!
Another stop on my 25 years anniversary trip, and I couldn't avoid this strange one. The Japanese band Melt Banana offers with "Charlie" more noise than music, at least for my listening habits. Fourteen crazed tracks (plus one hidden in the pregap) entertain (or annoy) you for fortunately thirty-five minutes. This kind of music is really not my cup of tea, nevertheless sixty-five points for guts and gumption.
Charlie isn't just music, it's an experience. It's explosive, unique, unstoppable, hasty, angry, calm and it's never been done before. You'll be bobbing your head and jumping around for hours.
more an exercise in style than a real LP, interesting ideas but the result is a bit fragmented, like a mixed bag. For the noise lovers it might be more compelling
