I love the intensity and the raw energy this band has, but they aren't channeling into an interesting sound. FYH wears their influences on their sleeve to a degree in which it becomes distracting (they even name-drop Saetia in a song title on their 2019 split with Shin Guard). For Your Health has set out to really flex the hell out of their versatility and talent on their debut (solo) album. With a 17 minute run time, it doesn't take long to wrap your head around what's going on here: let's bounce between dissonant mathcore with abrasive screams, to heavy chaotic metalcore breakdowns, to emotional post-rock climaxes with pretty guitar noodling, to catchier, more accessible clean vocal post-hardcore, then back to violent mathcore. Love how in your face and aggressive this record is but nothing really separates itself from its contemporaries but it has its moments such as Save Your Breath... and The Day of Black Sun but their also tracks which didn't do much for me and with the album only 17 minutes long, I wish there was much more to chew on it those 17 minutes.
