matt and kim is the most nostalgic sound for me. they really sum up that era of hipster aesthetic and music popular in college towns in the late 2000s/early 2010s. i get why people are put off by their sound because the purposely flat vocals and banging drums comes off as droning and repetitive. for me, it ends up working in the opposite way where i can listen to this album and have every song stuck in my head for the rest of the week. its just twee, kinda precious indie pop for people who are ... read more
