I’ve never really felt like Amy Shark really knows what to do with her sound. Ever since the Gold Coast artist broke through with her single “Adore” in 2016, she has prided herself as a confessional singer-songwriter raised on emo with a modern pop bent. Her albums, first 2018’s Love Monster and now especially her sophomore Cry Forever have never really been consistent in terms of sound.
