Balanced on the bleeding edge of Yeule’s morbid visions, Glitch Princess practically crackles with vitality and affirmation in their desperate, unadulterated, damaged, awkward willingness to show all and be heard.

The Line of Best Fit

Apart from a few exceptions, Yeule had yet to offer a multitude of songs as successful as on this opus. The whole of The Glitch Princess is a continuous demonstration, while being rich and varied.

90
Clash
Dripping in error messages, glitching computer code and introspective melodies, yeule guides us through their intense and complex connection to virtual realities and the real world as we know it.
83
Pitchfork
The pioneering second album from the London-based avant-pop artist is a darkly nuanced look at identity and technology, where personal disasters occur at the same scale as the actual apocalypse.
80
Loud and Quiet

On their second album, Glitch Princess, Yeule is about as honest and artificial as you can get.

musicOMH
It’s perfectly emblematic of the pop period we’re living in, with a new generation of artists changing the meaning of what it is to make pop music on their own terms.
80
DIY
It’s so meticulously constructed and so raw across each fragment of existence yeule lays out that its most perplexing moments become its most moving.

God Is in the TV

For Fans of Grimes and FKA Twigs, but firmly oscillating through their own stratosphere, If Glitch Princess isn’t sitting its rightful place on the throne in the higher reaches of on the best od the year lists by the end of 2022, then I would be very surprised.

Beats Per Minute
Given the ongoing pandemic, climate change, and escalating global tensions, not to mention the pervasive rise of nationalism and devaluation of democratic principles, Ćmiel and their thanatoid brand may well be the future of pop.

Second album Glitch Princess is more futuristic than yeule's past work and perhaps more dystopian as well.

The Needle Drop

The narrative of Glitch Princess sometimes trumps its music, though there are several beautiful highlights on that front too.

Glitch Princess is a hazy, glitchy journey of self-discovery. Also haha funny bug Hatsune Miku alien, shoutout tunnelbear vpn because it helped me listen to this a few hours before it officially came out in my place WWWW (this is not a paid placement i earn nothing 🤭). Speaking ... read more

Modern Melancholia

I’m going to keep this review short, since my man @TomBejoy broke down the tracklisting perfectly and has a much more potent connection with Yeule’s music than I. Anyway, here is my review:

In your postmeridian years, You begin to stray off path and into the herbaceous layer of woodland, bewitched by a crestfallen reverie that beckons you deeper like a forest wisp. Pulling you further into morass and moor, this forbidden feeling continues to ensnare you with ... read more

I'm not quite sure how to rate this. As a narrative, I love this. But outside of that context, I don't appreciate it as much.

The storytelling and soundscapes that yuele presents on this album it really pulls you in and immerses you in them. It really know how’s to balance its influences and creates a captivating experience. My only gripes are that it sometimes forgets that it is a pop album and some of the hooks fall flat and that feature on perfect blue does nothing for me. Bites on my neck is an AMAZING penultimate song for the album
