I enjoyed this album even more now that I'm going to college in Atlanta

This album is the perfect example of what I love about hip hop; it's just such a fun project. JID's flow and technique is insane. The energy he brings to his verses is equally matched by the catchy, outstanding production. This is undeniably reflected in his ability to create some of my favorite hooks I've heard in rap music this year. Songs like Can't Punk Me seriously make me want to start moshing. JID's live shows must ... read more

This album kicks off with the absolute masterpiece that is ‘Raydar’ but unfortunately the album never surpasses this high bar it sets for itself. In spite of that, everything that follows is pretty great. Production is pretty good throughout though some tracks just feel unnecessary, especially in the first half, but the entire second half is banger-after-banger. JID’s lyricism makes his influences very clear and the features reinforce that as the likes of Lil Wayne and Mos Def ... read more

Been a while since i've listened to something and it just clicked, everything that JID offers on The Forever Story is appealing to me, the themes of family and hurt, the incredible and distinguished production, JID's showcase of what seems to be an infinite amount of flow possibilities, the runtime making the album easy to listen to throughout. THIS IS IT

"The Forever Story" is a follow-up to JID's 2017 album, "The Never Story". I would say that this is one of those follow-up albums that are better than it's predecessor. I'm amazed by JID's versatility, I have always enjoyed JID's work but I did found some uninteresting stuff in his catalogue, yet this album seems to be more cohesive and interesting.
I have been waiting on this album for quite a while now, from the wait I was really hoping for a good album. I knew I would ... read more

JID at his rapping best, the production is amazing, and he delivers what was promised a reframing and expansion of his 2017 Freshman debut The Never Story. To make a comparison to another great, both thematically, this is his Good Kid MAAD City, an absolutely phenomenal project that serves as a love letter to the music history of Atlanta, not unlike GKMC wearing its Californian influences on its sleeve.

Album: The Forever Story
Artist: JID
Genre: Jazz Rap, Trap, Conscious Hip Hop

I never listened to a full length solo JID album but in my history of covering Hip-Hop since 2020 there always seemed to be a cherishable JID feature right around the corner, and from what I recall I was never disappointed. So when this new album “The Forever Story” was announced , I was happy to be conditioned to hear this guy consistently for 59 minutes with features backing him up. Which is ... read more

Amazing sampling.

JID’s rapping and lyrical ability are unquestionably phenomenal.

All the features are great.

Raydar, Dance Now, Can’t Punk Me, Sistanem, and Better Days are my faves.

All the other tracks are great. They just don’t hook me as much and I don’t feel like I’ll return to them as much.

Quality album. Maybe it’ll grow more on further listens.

After cementing himself as one of the genre’s most impressive talents throughout the last few years, ‘The Forever Story’ feels like JID’s attempt at establishing a magnum opus of technical proficiency. He packs multiple tracks worth of flows, hooks, and sonic ideas into every cut, to the point where I constantly had to check if the same song was still playing. Even his singing on “Kody Blu 31” is extremely impressive; however, there is substance behind all ... read more

Wow... this just left me speechless for a minute. This is probably one of the best rap albums I've heard, the production is great, the features were great, and JID was insane probably his best work yet. 10/10

Actually really good, it can be inconsistent at times for me but i think overall The forever story is a really solid rap album. This is my introduction to JID and I'm pretty impressed with his flow and bars. The production on this album is really weird but is pretty good.
