The "monke" album
When it comes to instrumental hip hop, i usually feel like it really can't be extremely interesting, unless it has a certain level of amazing quality that exceeds every expectation that i have for it. Going into Sun Thru Trees' first (?) record, i had no idea what i was going to listen to, since i have never heard this name before, the only information about the project being, of course, the cover.

As amazing as Instrumental Hip Hop can be, it can also be mind numbingly boring, which is unfortunately what happened here.
Come my fellow homosapiens, we must return to monke, return to the greenlands, return to nature. I'm back sorry had exams and i got some more lined up so I can be away again for a few more days and i was like well i just done this 4 hours Financial Accounting exam i need to calm done and relax, One Won Now definitely provided that experience with its more calm laid back soundscape and with some nice interesting instrumentals throw in does help it stand out but i wish their was just a bit more ... read more
Yeah, this is pretty great.
One of the best parts about this album, that's lost it's spot in instrumental hip-hop, is the crazy percussion we used to see all the time. Like the inclusion of African drums/percussion is so nice to see in a newer hip-hop beat tape.
This things really damn groovy. I can already tell as I'm just about to get to the halfway point of this project. I just really appreciate how unique this project is for modern times. Back when the stuff that stand out on this here ... read more
