Cranekiss firmly establishes Tamaryn’s pop songwriting chops. It also indicates a willingness to play with new instrumentation ... and a willingness to play with established style and form. It's a beautiful, heavily textured, highly sensual record, heady sugar on the tongue.
It’s a mature and thoughtful piece of work, one that will surely be appreciated as the temperatures dip, the leaves change color, and the calendar moves to autumn and winter soon after.

The effect of the droning synths and layers of nonstop effects slathered over everything induces a sense of sameness throughout. Cranekiss is going for hypnotic, but too often ends up narcotizing.
Decent- but like most indie dream pop, it lacks color, excitement and memorability, something bands like Beach House and Slowdive have mastered.
