In embracing music’s most rewarding artform, Zara Larsson has yet again affirmed her place on the brightest of billboards.

80
AllMusic

Tighter than So Good and packed with just as many catchy tunes, Poster Girl is yet another big step forward for the artist, adding a dozen fresh anthems to her catalog and maintaining her position as one of Sweden's finest pop exports.

80
NME

The singer's third album, veering from elegant electro-pop to grittier R&B, was well worth the wait.

80
DIY
Musically rose-tinted, ‘Poster Girl’ is pure pop escapism.
80
Clash
Direct, up-front, and completely unabashed, ‘Poster Girl’ finds Zara Larsson living up to the fame that has surrounded her for more than a decade.

Poster Girl, although far from perfect, is an encouraging sign from Larsson, indicating her adventurous spirit and perhaps paving the way for future triumphs.

70
The Line of Best Fit

It’s that confidence that permeates throughout Poster Girl, making it an album perfect for repeat listens, and maybe one day, a soundtrack for communal gatherings.

70
Gigwise
It’s an incredibly well-crafted and solid pop record, we just wish it took that extra bold leap to become a truly great one.
60
Beats Per Minute

Poster Girl is a step forward in a somewhat more concise direction for Larsson, but it could have used some fine-tuning to fully commit to its vision.

60
The Independent

Poster Girl has more than enough bops to keep fans happy.

60
The Arts Desk

For the most part, the album is very generic pop ... slickly produced bangers with all the bounce and claps teen girls need to sustain their basic life dramas.

60
The Forty-Five
After a long wait, the Swedish star’s third album dances between empowerment and emotional vulnerability.
60
Evening Standard
Four years after her last one, this new album from the Swedish star doesn’t hang together particularly convincingly.
55
Spectrum Culture
A disappointing pop album that made promises it couldn’t keep.
54
Pitchfork

Years into her solo career, Larsson is still just a disembodied voice floating over the beat. On her third album, she tries out some different sounds, but the result comes off like a Who's-Who of 2011 radio.

Poster Girl still shows a certain progression, but it is far from bringing what the best albums of the same type "Dance-Pop" have been able to do in recent years. Apart from Love Me Land, this album revolving around feelings is neither poignant, nor dreamy, nor fearsome, it is only a pop album sometimes pleasant but too often generic.

Having experienced a journey similar to Miley Cyrus or Selena Gomez since her early childhood, but absolutely not destructive because by chance she ... read more

Poster Girl by Zara Larsson is one of the albums of 2021.

Ever since the dawn of civilization, there has always been one integral element to the survival of humans, and to all living creatures. “Water”. From the long-haired, beardy hunters speeding across the forest, searching for a suitable meal for a family of four several unit years ago, to the mentally fatigued, headache-filled bloke who has to sit in their boxy room all day because of an invisible yet deadly being roaming the ... read more

You and I have listened to this album more than 1 million times even before it left, and we will continue to listen forever. Whenever we go to Zara, New Yorker, H&M, C&A, etc, We gonna listen to this record.

My god, it looks like a compilation of all the songs that play in clothing stores.
I don't know for you, but for me, the music here is so artificial that it gives me a headache.
The song WOW has the most stupid chorus of the year, I doubt any other artist can beat it, it is ... read more

i know this album is very basic and as a lot of people call it "retail music" but i kinda love it idk. there's something about the sound and her voice mixed with the overall simple pop recipe that just HITS and i'm living for it. and so what it would play in h&m or zara? i'd be a happy shopper. favs: need someone, look what you've done & right here.
